After that Rakesh Upadhyay started his career with Work Place as a grade “A” artist from Gorakhpur, the city of Baba Gorakhnath. Manoj Tiwari who is a famous singer, actor and parliamentarian directed Rakesh’s first audio album titled “Gorakhpur Gorakshanath Bhoomi Kashi Shiv Ke Nagari” written by Dharmendra Kumar Pandey.
This album gained immense popularity in India and abroad. On listening to this song, Rakesh was invited to the temple by Pujya Mahant Avaidyanath Ji Maharaj, the head priest of Gorakhnath Peeth, only to bless him. After that, Rakesh started presenting this devotional song of Guru Gorakhnath ji on various forums in the country and abroad, due to which he gained a lot of popularity.
